With a background in Anthropology, Sociology and Psychology of Education, Rui Simões has a PhD in Education (New University of Lisbon) and has been a teacher of Social Sciences, Education, Research Methods, Portuguese Culture and Intercultural Communication in Portugal since 1980 and, between 1992 and 1999, in Macau.
Since then, he holds a position as teacher in the School of Communication & Media Studies, where he coordinates the Social Sciences area, lecturing in both BA and MA degrees.
His main research subjects are on social representations and body practices, portuguese traditional games, soft powers, intercultural communication and portuguese education and cultural presence in Asia.
